Learn How to Be Content with What You Have

Being broke is a blessing because it forces you to be content with what you have in life. There's always going to be someone who has more than you. And if you're constantly focusing on what you don't have, this can cloud your head with negativity and impact your happiness. But if you accept your situation for what it is, you'll learn ways to get by on less.

2

Live a More Simpler Life

When you don't learn a lot, you can't afford many of life's luxuries, such as an expensive home or car. It may seem as if you're missing out, but the more things you acquire, the more time and money it takes to maintain these possessions. Also, people with money often fear losing their treasures.

3

Appreciate the More Important Things in Life

Some people are never content and they're always striving for the next best thing. But at the end of the day, having a lot of money doesn't bring true satisfaction. If you’re unable to spend money outside the house, you and your family may think of creative ways to entertain yourselves. And the more time you spend together, the more opportunities you’ll have to bond and become closer.

4

More Time for Self

Also, if you don't have money to always hang out with friends, there's the opportunity to relax and spend time alone. You can focus on yourself or explore a hobby. Develop a regular exercise routine, read a book, start a project or take a nap.

You’ll Learn Creative Ways to Entertain Yourself

There's no rule that says you have to spend money to have a good time. And when you don't have a lot of cash, you might discover that there's plenty of free activities in your area. Some families unable to take a vacation have learned ways to vacation in their hometown. They visit free museums, explore state parks and research other free or low-cost activities.

You’ll Learn How to Hustle

If you don't have a lot of money, you might have a small savings account. This could be problematic during an emergency. However, the self-proclaimed broke people I know have mastered the art of hustling. Their full-time jobs provide enough income to pay essential expenses, and when other costs pop up unexpectedly, they do whatever it takes to drum up cash. This includes asking for overtime hours or offering their services, such as babysitting or housecleaning.

Teaches You How to Live by a Budget

When there isn't a lot of money to go around, you're forced to live on a budget. This isn't a bad thing. In fact, a budget can get your finances on track. You might discover that you're spending too much in a particular area, and when you cut back, you might free up extra cash for saving or entertainment.

Being broke may sound like a bad thing — and yes, most of us wouldn't mind earning a little more money. But until this happens, keeping things in perspective can help you make the most of your situation. Do you feel that being broke is a blessing in disguise?

I don't like the term "broke " however, I get living within your means

Going from a married life and a 7 figure income to literally $100 in my undies drawer and an overdrawn checking account has taught me SO much! I've learned that we can live on so much less! Ive learned that NO MAN is worth being abused and beaten. Living a life where I am free and I no longer have to walk on egg shells everyday is truly PRICELESS!!!

Much respect to this. Makes you look at things differently. Much respect to you for this article. "More money more problems."

I don't think being broke is the only way to appreciate all. I wasn't just given things. So when l graduated college & started working I truly appreciated the BMW I bought :). Trying to do the sane with my daughter. Very difficult but doing it.

First time I read that being broke is a blessing...

*simpler or more simple. Never "more simpler". I just couldn't read beyond that. Good topic for a post, though.
