1

Bottled Water

Many people underestimate the importance of drinking enough water. In addition to keeping you hydrated, water also helps you be at your best. You’re going to be sluggish and slow if you aren’t drinking enough water. Keeping a bottle with you can help you to prevent that. Toss one or two bottles in your tote bag or purse as you head out the door in the morning.

2

A Protein Bar

Protein bars are always good to have in your bag. They’re a good alternative if you can’t get away from school or work for a meal. A meal is always better but if that’s not an option then a protein bar is a good stand in. It can give you the energy and nutrients you need to power through the rest of your day. Protein shakes are another option you could try.

3

Sneakers

If you have room in your bag then sneakers are a good choice to help you have a productive day. If you can, sneak a walk in at some point during your day. It’s true that exercise takes time but you’ll probably find that you more than make up for taking that time out. Exercise energizes you so that you get more done in less time. Even a 20 minute walk can be helpful in boosting your energy level.

4

Dried or Fresh Fruit

At some point during the day, you’re probably going to want a snack. Having some dried or fresh fruit in your bag is good for those times. Instead of buying something unhealthy from a vending machine, you can reach for a healthier alternative. You’ll save calories and you can feel good about what you’re putting into your body. If you continue to snack healthy over time then you’ll probably find junk food starts to lose it’s appeal.

5

Your Day Planner

Your day planner may be what keeps you on track throughout your day. I know mine does that for me. Keeping it in your bag can make a big difference. In fact, I rarely take mine out of my bag so I don’t have to worry about being without it. Your day planner can help you make sure you don’t forget anything important.

Cell Phone

You’d probably be lost without your cell phone. Most people feel that way. In addition to being something you enjoy, your cell phone also helps you to be more productive in several different ways. The music you have stored on your cell can help you to have a better workout. Additionally, you may have reminders programmed into your cell phone. Your cell also has all your contacts and other important information you need.

Herbal Tea

Herbal tea is a great afternoon pick me up. It’s another healthy alternative to keep you away from unhealthy snacks and beverages. Tea contains antioxidants that’re good for your body. There’re many different varieties of herbal tea so there’s something for everyone. My personal favorite is blueberry.

My problem with carrying water is that it makes my tote too heavy, I'm a teacher so I already carry around lots of books and stuff, at the end of the day my shoulders hurt already!!

I hate it when I forget my water - did that one day this week! As for snacks, I only do fresh fruit, I don't believe in the "protein" craze of shakes and bars and that. It's all processed stuff anyway :/

Ah- great idea to bring tea with you!! Saves so much money!! 😄
