1. Skipping Breakfast

Skipping breakfast may seem like a good idea. You think you’re saving calories but what usually ends up happening is you overeat later in the day because you’re so hungry. If you feel you don’t have time for a healthy breakfast then come up with some quick options. Instant oats, Carnation Instant Breakfast and even cereal and milk are both healthy and quick. If you aren’t hungry when you get up then try having breakfast mid-morning to keep you from overindulging at lunch.

2. Eating Fast Food for Lunch Daily

Fast food is something most of enjoy. When it becomes a daily or frequent meal is where you run into problems. An occasional burger and fry 🍔 🍟 is okay but having this as part of your daily diet equals bad news. Not only will you the scale creep up but the fat, sodium and cholesterol you’re taking in is staggering. Packing a healthy lunch from home is healthier and will save you money, too.

3. Snacking in Front of the TV

It seems natural to grab a bag of chips while you watch your favorite shows. However, this’s a bad idea. You’re so interested in your show that you eat more than you would have than if you were focusing on your snack. Eat your snack at the kitchen table and your portions will likely shrink. If you absolutely must have something to eat while you’re watching tv then make it something healthy like frozen grapes 🍇or apple 🍏slices.

4. Bypassing the Fruits and Veggies at the Store

Speaking of grapes and apples, don’t leave them out of your cart when you’re grocery shopping! Fruits and veggies contain vitamins and other important nutrients that your body needs to be it’s best. 5. White Pasta, White Bread & White Rice

I’m with all you lovers of white pasta, bread and rice. It’s yummy and more than that, it’s what most of us are used to. But it’s not the best choice. Brown versions of all of these products are far healthier and packed with good things like fiber and more vitamins and minerals. It’s hard to switch over but you can do it. If you’re really struggling, then try mixing the pasta and rice with half white and half brown while you’re adjusting.

6. Not Cooking at Home

Cooking at home is almost always a healthier option. It’s true that you can find healthy choices at restaurants but it isn’t easy. If you are fortunate enough to find some healthy options, they’re usually limited. The world is at your fingertips when you cook healthy meals at home. You can make thousands of different recipes to keep your meals interesting. Additionally, you’ll save a ton of cash.

7. Going to the Grocery Store without a List
