Trying to Beat the Crisis without significantly changing your habits and lifestyle can be really difficult. Luckily, there are dozens of small things you can do to save, things that can actually improve your life while helping you beat the crisis! Isn’t that a win-win situation? Well, you will have to give up some things and you might miss them for a while but give it a month or two and you’ll realize trying to beat the crisis does have its benefits! Don’t believe me? Well, here’s what you should give up in order to have more cash at the end of each month and you’ll see that these habits are soooo worth ditching:
Giving up junk food won’t only help you to beat the crisis but live a healthier life as well! Now, don’t look at me like that – I love pizza, too! Why not make your own pizza instead? Or your own sandwich? My fiancé rarely buys his lunch firstly because he’s really into healthy food and secondly because eating out every day would mean he “ate” 30% of his salary. I know you’re probably busy and I’m sure you don’t have time to cook every day but believe me, if a guy who works approximately 12hours a day can prepare his own food to take to work, so can you!
I’m sure our planet would have something to say about our four wheeled pets and, if you listen really closely, you’ll hear that your bank account completely agrees with that! Now, here’s one relatively new, both budget and eco friendly solution that’s quickly gaining popularity in this part of the Europe – LPG! Altering your engine in a way that will enable your car to run on this fuel isn’t dirt cheap, of course, but it definitely pays out in the long run so think about it and remember to ask around!
If you want to beat the crisis you simply must remember to leave the plastic at home! Don’t pay with your credit card unless it’s really necessary because you won’t realize how much you’ve spend! Pay in cash, let your brain deal with the sight of all that money leaving your hands and you’ll actually find yourself thinking twice before your next purchase.
From cheaper flights to almost dirt-cheap accommodation – first minute and last minute offers could really help you beat the crisis without having to give up travelling! If you have a family and you’re not really interested in partying, mingling and summer romances, off-season vacations could prove to be a much better idea anyways, which means you’re not actually losing anything!
Give up your habits of sleeping in front of the TV and leaving some of the lights on and you’ll be able to beat the crisis by lowering your electricity bill! Advise your children and husband to do the same and try to set a good example by making sure household appliances and lights are turned off if nobody is using them.
Premium package certainly is a nice thing to have but, if you’re trying to save money, you’d better think long and hard on whether you really need it! My parents have finally decided to return to the basic package and the cable TV expenses are now more than 70% lower! All our favorite channels (minus one) are still available and, since the one we had to give up was really a major distraction, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that we’re now spending less time in front of the TV and more time doing other more interesting or productive things.
Trying to use your car less could help you kill two birds with one stone! First: you’ll save on gas and second: you’ll get a chance to walk or ride a bike thus exercise without having to go to the gym and pay memberships.
Take a look at your closet and tell me how many expensive, so-not-worth-it items can you see collecting dust inside? If you had waited a day or two before buying that item would you still go through with your purchase? Probably not! Well, in order to beat the crisis, you’ll just have to stop wasting money on things that will never see daylight and you can do that by forcing yourself to wait a couple of days before returning to the shop ready to open your wallet!
Feel free to use any or all of these tips, ladies, because they can really help you beat the crisis one small, budget-friendly step at the time! I’m curious, though - How are you going to beat the crisis and are you willing to sacrifice anything in order to make it happen?
