Leaving the taps running in the bathroom instead of turning off the hot water can also save a lot on water metered household bills and energy bills. Take showers instead of indulging in daily baths, which aren't so good for your skin anyway. Wash most clothes at 40 degrees Celsius instead of using the hottest temperatures for everything. Reduce the number of times you use the dryer and dry clothes naturally on a washing line or the back of a chair, if you don't have a garden.
