7 Salon Beauty Treatments You Can do at Home to save Money ...

There are several beauty treatments you can do at home to save money without sacrificing your beauty! Keeping a budget intact is important for the average girl these days, so here are my top picks for salon treatments you can totally DIY and still look as fresh as the salon would have you looking! We all love a little pampering, so if you have the extra money to splurge on salon visits occasionally, then go for it! But on an everyday basis, here are some beauty treatments you can do at home instead of at the salon!

1 Facials

One of the beauty treatments you can do at home is a facial! Facials are really easy to do yourself, and they don’t cost too much either. I like to keep several different types of masks on hand, and use at least one of them once a week. Clay masks, moisturizing masks, anti-acne masks, and skin brightening masks are a few of my faves to have around!

Frequently asked questions

2 Pedicures

There is almost nothing nicer than having your toes done by a professional, but if you’d prefer to save that $25-$40, then do your own pedi! Start by soaking your feet in a tub of warm water with a little oil, and then slough off dead skin. Trim your toenails, buff them, and push back your cuticles. Follow with your favorite color of polish, and allow your toes to dry thoroughly!

3 Body Scrubs

Body scrubs can cost you anywhere from $50 to $150 if you go to a salon! I prefer to do my own scrub at home in the bath. Make sure you apply body lotion or body oil after the scrub to lock in moisture and keep that skin feeling baby soft!

4 Upper Lip Wax

Who likes leaving the salon with that embarrassing red and puffy upper lip? Save yourself the trouble and just do your own upper lip waxing. Follow all directions carefully so you don’t hurt yourself, but rest assured that doing it yourself won’t hurt any more than going to a professional!

5 Hair Treatments

My favorite hair treatment is coconut oil. It’s completely natural, and very healthy for your hair. I like to warm a little up, then apply it to my wet hair and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wear a shower cap to lock in moisture! Wash and condition as usual after the 20 minutes, and enjoy your soft, shiny locks!

6 Manicures

Just like a pedicure, you can do your own manicure. It may take some time getting used to, especially if you aren’t used to painting your own fingernails. I don’t recommend trying your own acrylic nails, as they can be tricky to get the hang of.

7 Teeth Whitening

Why pay for a pricey teeth-whitening session when you can get a box of whitening strips for $20? I have used them before, and they absolutely work! Just follow all instructions carefully, and ask your dentist first if you have sensitive gums or teeth. Some whitening strips may not be ok to use if you have a gum disease or teeth sensitivity!

I love my visits to the salon as much as the next girl, but they can get pricey really fast. So these are a few of the salon beauty treatments I’ve attempted myself, and I’ve always been pleased with the results, as well as with the money I’ve saved! Which beauty treatments do you attempt at home?
