This isn't the time to be humble, because you need to prove that you're the best person for the job. Employers don't want to hire someone who will struggle in new situations. They want to know that you're adaptable, which means that you can deal with anything that's thrown at you. It's also important to mention that you're flexible, because employers want to hire people who are willing to adjust their schedules to work whenever they can. The more often you're available, the more likely you'll land the job.



No matter where you work, you're bound to interact with others. That's why it's important for you to mention that you're a team player. You can also mention that you're a people person, because it will get the same idea across--that you're friendly and capable of dealing with other people in a respectful way.



Employers want to know that you're reliable. That's why you can't show up five minutes late to your interview. In fact, you shouldn't even get there on time. You should be early, in order to prove that you're responsible. It never hurts to mention how punctual you are during an interview, because it's a valuable quality.



Tell your interviewer that you're ambitious, hard-working, or dedicated. It doesn't matter what word you use to get your point across, as long as you make her realize that you're someone who will take the job seriously and do the best that you can. That's all that she could ask for, really.

All great words to use and I've used number 7 but I didn't say perfectionist. I did say something very similar which escapes my mind at the moment but your absolutely right. Don't give a weakness instead give an example of something your working on. Something you acknowledge you do but your learning from it.

The TRUTH of the matter is that these words are useless without concrete, verifiable examples of each. These words have been used for over forty years to describe every job applicant to every job known to mankind.

Great list! Thanks! However, number 7 is a huge misconception & isn't very realistic. More than likely it'll make you look dishonest & unwilling to admit that as a human being, you do have faults. Chose an actual weakness & discuss how you've been working to improve in that area!
