Consider Your Own Version of Success

What does success look like for you when you close your eyes? It can be different for everybody; it doesn’t always have to mean being the CEO of some grand company at the top of a skyscraper in London. For you, success could be owning your own little bakery in your hometown, or finally being confident enough to start those after-school piano classes that you always dreamed of. The key is in figuring out your own dream rather than being forced to follow the ‘traditional’ path. Keep reading for more keys to finding a career you love.

2

Understand Your Own Conditions

We all work best when we are put in the conditions that we can thrive under. In order for your job to be as fun and as productive as possible, you need to make it known what your strengths and weaknesses are, and then your employers will be able to make the most of you. If you are constantly being put into situations that you are not comfortable with just because you haven’t voiced your issues, then the problem will never be solved.

3

Take Action

Don’t sit at your desk, bored out of your mind, waiting for something inspiring to happen to you. You have to be proactive and make these changes for your self. You don’t have to quit your current job before looking for a new one. Put your CV out there for the world to see, and the sense that you are getting on with your own life will even make you feel more motivated in your current employment.

4

Seek Advice

If you are treading water on your own, then there are plenty of people you can turn to for help and advice, from friends to family to trained career professionals. The most important key to finding a career you love is first to assess what kinds of career and opportunities are actually out there! This can be a dense and tricky minefield to navigate, so take advantage of all the help you can get and you might be able to be directed toward getting different qualifications that will ultimately lead to your dream job. Don’t give up!
